We’re not some trendy eCommerce startup. GarageCabinets.com is part of Greenberg Casework Company Inc., a family-owned business that’s been building cabinets since 1985 — starting in a two-car garage in South Beloit, Illinois.

That’s where a 19-year-old named Troy Greenberg launched his first custom furniture business. Over the next few decades, it grew into a 10,000-square-foot operation building cabinetry for schools, banks, clinics, and even high-end hospitality clients like Sheraton, Marriott, and Walt Disney World.

When the 2008 recession hit and commercial projects dried up, we leaned into a growing opportunity: garage cabinetry for homeowners.

And that turned out to be the best decision we ever made.
